Bullying and Harassment

Bullying is any overt, unwanted, repeated act or gesture committed with the intent to harass, humiliate, intimidate or harm another person. Harassment is any behavior that is threatening or intentionally disturbing to another person.

Michigan Online School prohibits bullying or harassing behavior. Any incident of bullying or harassment will be fully investigated, and any person engaging in such behavior will be held accountable and may face serious consequences.

Michigan Online School is committed to protecting its students and employees from bullying, harassment or any use of technology to perpetrate such behavior. MOS is proudly committed to providing a comprehensive online education while helping students make influential connections in the real world. Bullying and harassment will not be tolerated and will be cause for disciplinary action.

Consequences for students who violate this policy will be determined by MOS administrators and may include:

  • Student/teacher/parent conference
  • Suspension of network privileges
  • Restriction on communication with other students
  • Expulsion from Michigan Online School
